About us
More than three decades designing and manufacturing solid-wood chairs and tables, in the heart of Rebordosa.
In 1988, our father and mother, together with two workers, started the business in premises of little more than 200 m². A love for the craft — and necessity — led them to design their own models and sell them on the domestic market.
Given the success of those models and a growing client base, in 1995 they founded Joaquim Gomes de Sousa, Lda. Over more than 30 years of steady growth, we now count on 20 highly skilled workers and our own 2000 m² premises, equipped with a modern machine park.
The quality of our products and our strict respect for delivery deadlines have been our hallmark, carrying us beyond borders: we export under our registered «Chairworld» brand and also manufacture under private label.
Mission & vision
To design and manufacture furniture for indoor and outdoor settings using selective wood from renewable forests, and to create value for clients through bespoke, personalised projects — with creativity, innovation and environmental responsibility — to be the reference organisation in the markets it serves.
